MOVE International is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization. 

MISSION STATEMENT: MOVE International seeks to improve the overall quality of life for people with disabilities and for the people who care for them, regardless of age or cause of disability. MOVE International promotes fuller participation in home, school, work and community life to encourage the dignity and hope such participation brings to each individual.

The mission statement is founded in the belief that the ability to move is the first foundation stone in building personal dignity. 

The MOVE Program originated in the 1980s in the Kern County Superintendent of Schools,  Bakersfield, California.  The MOVE Program is now used in many school districts and other facilities/organizations throughout the United States and many other nations.

Description of Site:

    The Program for Adaptive Learning works with families and districts to allow students to become as functionally independent as possible. PAL believes that each student is unique in personality and education needs. To meet these needs PAL continues to research and apply best practices in the field of developmental disabilities, autism and physical disabilities. Each PAL student will experience educational and social opportunities in the most enabling environment possible, thus benefiting the total person.

Directions to the site:

    Take the Dan Ryan South to 57 South (Memphis exit). Take 57 South to Lincoln Highway East. Take Lincoln Highway East to Division Street (two lights east of Western Avenue). At Division Street, there is an Aldi’s Food Store, turn left (north). Come down to first stop sign, cross over. There are approximately 3-4 houses, and we are the first school on the right hand side. There is a sign that reads SPEED Cooperative. Enter through the front door of the building. Ask for Melissa Jasieniecki.
