Description of site:

Woodland is a specialized school that services students from all seven St. Clair County public school districts who are moderately cognitively impaired (MOCI), severely cognitively impaired (SCI) and severely multiply impaired (SXI). It also serves students with other disabilities if the student is functioning in these ranges, such as children with autism.

Woodland Developmental Center has a versatile staff of approximately 115 dedicated teachers, teacher aides, nurses, therapists, consultants and support staff. The staff is committed to providing students with functional life experiences that promote success in family and community life. The goal is to help and prepare each individual for his or her adult life roles. Woodland Developmental Center believes the best approach to education is the team approach. Teachers, staff and parents work together to develop the individual goals for each student in the areas of communication, daily living, mobility and fitness, quality of life and vocational skills. These collaborative efforts result in programming and support activities, which assist every student in reaching his or her full potential.

From Flint:
Take I-69 East to I-94 West (signs will say to Detroit, Exit #198)
Take I-94 West to the first exit – Range Road (Exit #269)
Turn left on Range Road and go approximately 2 1⁄2 miles.
The RESA Complex will be on the right side of the road, at the corner of Range and Smiths Creek Road.
When you pull into the complex, Woodland Developmental Center is the first building on your left.

From Detroit:
Take I-94 East to the Marysville Exit (Exit #266)
Keep to your right while exiting off the ramp. This will put you on Gratiot Avenue.
Go 1/8 Mile to the stop light at Range Road.
Turn left on Range Road and go approximately 1⁄2 mile.
The RESA Complex will be on the left side of the road.
When you pull into the complex, Woodland Developmental Center is the first building on your left.

From Sarnia, Ontario:
Take Hwy 402 W ramp toward Bridge to USA.
Merge onto Provincial Route 402 W (Portions toll)
Provincial Route 402 W becomes I-94 W (Portions toll)
Take I-94 W to the Range Road exit (Exit #269)
Turn left on Range Road and go approximately 2 1⁄2 miles.
The RESA Complex will be on the right side of the road, at the corner of Range and Smiths Creek Road.
