Description of Site:

The Jardine Academy is a private, non-profit school approved by the New Jersey Department of Education and accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools. The Academy provides a comprehensive educational program designed to meet the unique cognitive and physical needs of children who have multiple disabilities -- needs that may not be fully met within the local school system. The student-centered essential skills curriculum is functional, age appropriate and addresses the New Jersey Core Curriculum Content Standards. Instruction addresses student self care, health and fitness, interpersonal skills, mobility and functional academics. Support services designed to enable and enhance the students' ability to participate in all educational opportunities may include nursing, physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech and language therapy, and social work.

Other Notes of Interest:

The Jardine Academy provides a variety of special programs and opportunities to further enhance the student's educational experiences. These may include a variety of community based field trips, yoga, swimming, horseback riding, gymnastics, gardening, and a virtual reality room.

Directions to the site:

From the Garden State Parkway (North or South): Take exit #138 (to Roselle Park). At the end of the ramp, bear right onto Galloping Hill Road. Continue straight through large 5 point intersection. Make a left at the second light onto Magie Avenue. (Gulf gas station on the left). Continue on Magie Avenue and make a left onto Edgewood Parkway. Go to the end of Edgewood Parkway and make a right onto Clermont Terrace. On the right is Jardine Academy (white brick building), 373 Clermont Terrace.
