Description of site:The Jardine Academy is a private, non-profit school approved by the New Jersey Department of Education and accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools. The Academy provides a comprehensive educational program designed to meet the unique cognitive and physical needs of children who have multiple disabilities -- needs that may not be fully met within the local school system. The student-centered essential skills curriculum is functional, age appropriate and addresses the New Jersey Core Curriculum Content Standards. Instruction addresses student self care, health and fitness, interpersonal skills, mobility and functional academics. Support services designed to enable and enhance the students' ability to participate in all educational opportunities may include nursing, physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech and language therapy, and social work.

The Jardine Academy provides a variety of special programs and opportunities to further enhance the student's educational experiences. These include a variety of community based field trips, yoga, swimming, horseback riding, gymnastics, gardening, musical performance groups, and in-site and community vocational training.

From the Garden State Parkway (Travelling South): Take exit #136. At the end of the ramp, continue on Centennial Avenue. Continue straight to the third light (there is a Sunoco service station on the corner). Make a right onto Myrtle Street. One-third of a mile on the left is Jardine Academy.
