MOVE International is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization. 

MISSION STATEMENT: MOVE International seeks to improve the overall quality of life for people with disabilities and for the people who care for them, regardless of age or cause of disability. MOVE International promotes fuller participation in home, school, work and community life to encourage the dignity and hope such participation brings to each individual.

The mission statement is founded in the belief that the ability to move is the first foundation stone in building personal dignity. 

The MOVE Program originated in the 1980s in the Kern County Superintendent of Schools,  Bakersfield, California.  The MOVE Program is now used in many school districts and other facilities/organizations throughout the United States and many other nations.

Description of Site:

    Blair is a school based program. It is a small center of 3 special day classes on a regular campus. Students are integrated into our program. Use of assistive technology and vocal communication aids are integrated throughout the curriculum.

Directions to the site:

    Take Highway 58 East off Highway 99, to the first exit, Chester Ave/South H. Turn right on either South H or Chester Ave and go South to the first stop light at Belle Terrace. Turn left and head East to the Blair at Sequoia campus, 900 Belle Terrace, located on the North side of the street, on the corner of Belle Terrace and P Street. The Kern County Fairgrounds parking lot is located directly across the street. The classrooms are located in the front wing to the left of the Sequoia Middle School office. You may go directly to Room 1, the classroom of Linda Ynostroza.
